Massage therapies have mostly been marketed as one of life's little luxuries. I disagree! Massages have great physical and emotional benefits.. in my opinion.. that's reason enough to work this into you lifestyle! Listed below are my top 5 reasons for drawing this conclusion..

1- Muscle Tension Relief-

The obvious benefit.. how ever tensions comes from over activity AND under activity. quite simply.. life takes its toll on our muscles! massage is essential for that little bit of restoration to our muscles.. helping us to me more efficient in our day to day activities.

2- Increased Blood Flow-

This is great as it improves circulation. A lot of women tend to suffer from cold hands and feet.. the circulation boost will help this. As well as that increased circulation improves the look of the skin!

3- Proven to reduce anxiety and depression-

The practise is extremely therapeutic! Women diagnosed with breast cancer who received massage therapy three times a week reported being less depressed and less angry, according to a 2005 study published in the International Journal of Neuroscience.- besthealthmag.ca

4- Improves sleep-

I have always found that I sleep like a baby during/after a massage, even more so than I would do at home in bed! it is proven that massage induces sleep, and helps you to have a more restful sleep.

I always encourage you book your massage treatments at a spa, because spas usually have a relaxation room where you can go to doze off after a treatment

5- Aids your bodies natural waste system (lymph)

So long as your therapist works toward the lymph nodes. the physical action of massage can help you rid your body of toxins. this is great for those who have a build up; especially those who visit the gym regularly.

There you have my top 5 reasons for why massage is more of a necessity than you might have first thought!

Feel free to comment with any other questions you may have!
